Biogeochemistry of coral reefs: nutrient uptake and its relationship to dissipation of energy by reef benthos; productivity measurements; CNP ratios of plant material; food chain budgets; ocean acidification.
Measurement of fine-structure of oxygen in the ocean: oxygen sensor development and patch structure from biological-physical interactions.
Remote sensing of coral reefs: spectral reflectance of coral reef benthos, radiative transfer theory; airborne and satellite mapping of bottom types and productivity.
