Research Interests
- My research interests are currently focused on various aspects of reproductive biology in marine and terrestrial wildlife. These
include reproductive physiology, endocrinology and behavior, as well as captive and wild breeding management. At present we are involved in
a collaborative project with National Marine Fisheries Service in which we are suppressing an aberrant sociosexual behavior of male Hawaiian
monk seals. These behaviors appear to be androgen-driven and thus, we are using hormonal manipulation to suppress this activity. Other concurrent
projects are examining the estrous cycle and monitoring reproductive condition of female seals, whales, tortoises.
