The
Holland Lab also conducts field research away from Coconut Island. The Tiger Shark Research Program
looks at the movement patterns and population dynamics of this large predator off the
southern shore of Oahu. Acoustic telemetry is used to track their movements and ultrasonic
listening stations monitor the return of tagged sharks to the waters where they were
initially caught, tagged and released. This site was
