An aerial view of our fishing grounds off southern Oahu. This large tiger shark is being implanted with an acoustic transmitter.
This small tiger shark has been sexed, measured, tagged and is ready for release. You can see the small acoustic transmitter (orange) at the base of the dorsal fin.
We maintain data loggers on the ocean floor that record each time a tagged shark enters the area. Unhooking a large tiger shark along side our research vessel.
