Herminia Esteban

Herminia Esteban is a janitor in operations and maintenance at Honolulu Community College. She consistently demonstrates a commitment to her responsibilities that goes above and beyond her duties.

Esteban exhibits an earnest desire to create an environment that supports faculty and student comfort, which in turn enhances academic effort. She is vigilant about conserving resources but always ensures they are available as needed.

Always friendly and eager to take on tasks, she has a strong work ethic and takes pride in doing her work well. Her cheerful, helpful attitude is appreciated and valued by all she comes in contact with.

As one staff member succinctly put it, “Herminia is simply the best!”

The President’s Award for Excellence in Building and Grounds Maintenance honors UH employees who exhibit dedication and sustained superior performance in a maintenance, landscaping, custodial, shop or trucking position.
