Regents’ Medal for Excellence in Teaching
Teaching Medal Award Winner
An instructor in nursing, Maria Fabro views each student as having tremendous potential to do great, and states that it is her job as their teacher to help her students realize that potential.
One student says "she practices what nurses preach, and that is a healthy lifestyle."
Another says "she is able to clearly teach difficult content while maintaining the entire class’ interest, and she makes us want to strive to be our best."
The Regents’ Medal for Excellence in Teaching is awarded by the Board of Regents as tribute to faculty members who exhibit an extraordinary level of subject mastery and scholarship, teaching effectiveness and creativity and personal values that benefit students. The board also awards the Regents’ Medal for Excellence in Research.
