Regents’ Medal for Excellence in Teaching
Teaching Medal Award Winner
A professor at the William S. Richardson School of Law and director of the legal writing program, Jill Ramsfield merged writing and research into a seamless curriculum to teach not only writing and research, but other essential lawyering skills as well.
Her modifications bring together the skills of legal research and legal writing, which creates an entirely new learning environment.
To ensure that her students succeed, Ramsfield constantly rethinks and revises her approach to meet different student needs.
The Regents’ Medal for Excellence in Teaching is awarded by the Board of Regents as tribute to faculty members who exhibit an extraordinary level of subject mastery and scholarship, teaching effectiveness and creativity and personal values that benefit students. The board also awards the Regents’ Medal for Excellence in Research.
