SPECIAL LECTURE ON INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY AND COPYRIGHT

Intellectual Property legal expert Sayoko Blodgett-Ford, with special guest Jay Handlin, former litigation head at Disney, will give an overview of intellectual property issues facing content creators, including copyright, fair use, trademarks, brand names and rights of publicity and privacy Saturday from 9 am to noon in Krauss 012 (Yukiyoshi Room) on the UHM campus. This is an ideal opportunity for ACM students to understand their rights - and their responsibilities to the rights of others. And the price is right! The normal $50 workshop fee is waived for UHM students, but you must sign up in advance with Susan Horowitz of Pacific New Media horowitz@hawaii.edu.

Students who desire to become an ACM major but receive less than a grade of "B" (3.0) in ACM 255 may retake the course once for reconsideration. If a grade of B is not attained in the retaking of the course, the student is ineligible to become an ACM major. Any appeals to this policy will be heard, and decided, by a faculty committee.
