SHANGHAI CALLING: JOIN ACM FOR FILM MAKING, FESTIVAL IN CHINA

Submit your ACM film by Monday (April 14) for consideration for screening in the 2008 Shanghai International Film Festival. Selected ACM student filmmakers will have their airline and accommodations paid for a trip to China June 4-23 as part of ACM's SMART (Student Media Art) Exchange Program. The adventure will include a filmmaking co-production with students from Shanghai University, and attendance at the Shanghai Festival where their films will be screened. There's also the opportunity to attend festival gatherings to mix with some of the top international filmmakers. Details and entry form are available on our website at www.hawaii.edu/acm.

LOST INTERNSHIPS AVAILABLE FOR FALL 08

If you're able to commit 150 working hours over the course of the semester (preferably one full 10 hour day per week), you could be among the 10 interns selected to work on the set of the hit ABC series LOST during Fall 08, and receive 3 credits in ACM 495. Majors and those students intending to commit to become majors, as always, have priority. What better reason to major (or double major) in ACM? Please contact Asst. Prof. Joel Moffett moffett@hawaii.edu or 956-3353 if you are interested.

Congratulations to Joelle-Lynn Sarte, one of the first ACM LOST interns, who now has a Production Assistant job in the Transportation Department. Joelle's films have screened at the Hawai'i International Film Festival, and she has previously served as a PA on the LIVING LOCAL TV series.

Remember, no flyers should be posted on the glass on the front and back entrance doors to Crawford Hall. They'll be taken down, pronto.

PRE-MAJORS, TAKE NOTE!

The ACM Faculty has approved the following policy: Students who desire to become an ACM major but receive less than a grade of "B" (3.0) in ACM 255 may retake the course once for reconsideration.
