Regent
Eric K. Martinson
Born and raised in Honolulu, Eric K. Martinson joined the board in 2009. He has more than 25 years of institutional investment and asset management experience with emphasis in private equity. He is managing director of Tradewind Capital Group, a wholly owned investment subsidiary of Island Holdings, and manages the firm’s private equity portfolio activities.
Martinson began his career at Kamehameha Schools/Bishop Estate in 1984, where he served in numerous financial and investment capacities and was director of the organization’s Financial Asset Division, responsible for its diverse global financial asset portfolios.
He serves on the boards of several private companies including Hoike Holdings, Sopogy, BPA Technologies and DSH International.
He is also active on the boards and leadership of numerous business, community and non-profit organizations. He serves as Enterprise Honolulu board member, Hawaii Business and Entrepreneur Acceleration Mentors business mentor, Office of Hawaiian Affairs Investment Advisory Committee member and Hawaii Imin Shiryo Hozon Kai board member. He previously chaired the Japanese Cultural Center of Hawaii board and served on the Kamehameha Schools Board of Advisors, Na Pua a Ke Alii Pauahi Board of Directors and Polynesian Voyaging Society Board of Directors.
Martinson is a graduate of the University of Hawaii at Manoa with a BBA in finance and holds an MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business.
