The university has a crime prevention program based on the
dual concept of eliminating or minimizing opportunities for
crime while encouraging students to assume responsibility
for their own safety by taking common sense precautions.
An escort service is provided between dusk and dawn for students
who would otherwise have to walk alone on campus at night.
Sixty-eight emergency call boxes are placed throughout campus,
with a direct connection to the campus security dispatchers.
