- Housing
- Are
freshmen required to live in the residence halls?
No, living on campus is not mandatory. Priority is given to
first time freshmen who submit their application by the housing
application deadline and submit their intent to enroll and
tuition deposit by May 1.
- What
housing options are available?
Residence halls comprise approximately 2/3 of all on-campus
accommodations. Most are double occupancy, with community
bathroom and lounge facilities. One and two bedroom apartments
are also available for upperclassmen.
- How
do I apply for housing?
Complete a housing application and mail it to housing services
with the housing application fee. For information and to request
an application, call (808) 956-8177 or e-mail uhmsh@hawaii.edu.

- What
is the priority deadline to apply for housing?
Refer to the housing website: www.housing.hawaii.edu.
- Can
I request an individual room?
There are a limited number of single rooms available. Every
effort will be made to accommodate requests, but due to the
small number of single rooms, we may not be able to grant
your request.
- Can
I request a specific roommate?
Yes, the application form has a section for roommate requests.
Both roommates must request each other and list their hall
and room preference in the same order. Social security numbers
of roommates are also required. Though not guaranteed, housing
services will accommodate requests as they are best able.
- Are
the rooms wired for internet access?
All of the residence halls have high speed direct connect
to the internet. Computers must be equipped with a network
interface card with an RJ45 port.
