- Transferring
- What
do I need to submit to apply for admission as a transfer student?
If you have at least 12 transferable college credits completed
and at least 12 transferable college credits in progress,
you need to submit an application form, official college transcripts
(sent directly from all colleges that you have attended),
and an application fee.
- Is
there a minimum cumulative college GPA required for admission
as a transfer student?
The cumulative college GPA required for transfer admission
is 2.0 for Hawaii residents and 2.5 for non-residents.
- If
I don't want to transfer credits from a college that I previously
attended, do I need to send that transcript?
You are required to send transcripts from all of the colleges
that you attended to be considered for admission.
- Will
I keep my GPA from previous colleges once I enroll at the
University of Hawaii at Manoa?
No, GPAs are used for admittance purposes only. Your GPA at
the University of Hawaii at Manoa will be based upon courses
taken at the University of Hawaii at Manoa only.
- My
current college operates on the quarter system. How does this
convert to the semester system?
1-quarter hour equals .667 semester hours. For example, a
6-quarter hour class equals a 4-semester hour class.
- What
courses will I need to complete prior to transferring to the
University of Hawaii at Manoa?
There are no specific courses required prior to transfer.
However, if you have at least 24 transferable college level
credits, we would no longer require official high school transcripts
or official SAT/ACT scores.
- How
will I know what courses will transfer to the University of
Hawaii at Manoa?
The staff of the Office of Admissions will do an initial evaluation
of your credits to determine how they will transfer after
you have been admitted and have confirmed your intention to
enroll. You may also do a transfer credit search at http://www.hawaii.edu/admrec/transfer.
