This chapter is for students who are in a selected reserve or guard unit. In order to receive Chapter 1606 benefits:

For students receiving Chapter 1606 benefits for the first time, allow 6-8 weeks before receiving first payment. Students who have received benefits and are already in the VA database, allow 2-4 weeks before receiving payment.
