This chapter is for survivors' and dependents' of those who were on active duty in the military. In order to receive Chapter 35 benefits:

For students receiving Chapter 35 benefits for the first time, allow 6-8 weeks before receiving first payment. Students who have received benefits and are already in the VA database, allow 2-4 weeks before receiving payment.
