HAWAII FAMILY CAREGIVER'S NETWORK

The goal of the Hawaii Family Caregiver's Network is to bring together family caregivers and to offer support by way of information.

What is the Network for?

  • To provide a coordinated means to relay information to family caregivers on a number of issues, for example, services, caregiving tips, legislation, and training opportunities.
  • To provide a coordinated means for family caregivers to comment on and to respond to family caregiving needs and issues.
  • Given the complexity of family caregiving, the Network also serves as a vital resource for researchers . On occasion, Network members are asked to voluntarily participate in focus groups, surveys, and questionnaires to help researchers gather information and statistics on specific caregiving problems and issues in Hawaii.

What are the benefits of joining?

  • An opportunity to receive information on national, state, and local caregiving issues.
  • An opportunity to comment and provide information on family caregiving issues.
  • Network members will receive our quarterly newsletter, Family Caregiver .

Who should join?

  • Any caregiver who is providing unpaid assistance to an elderly family member, friend, or neighbor.
  • A grandparent who is 60 years and older caring for a dependent grandchild.
