The Hawai'i Library Association, UH LIS Program, and UH ALA Student Chapter invite you to come hear ALA President Dr. Loriene Roy. This free talk will take place
Dr. Roy is the first Native American President of the American Library Association. Some of you will remember that she kicked off her presidential campaign at the HLA Conference in Hawaii. Beyond being the president of the world's oldest professional association of librarians -- with over 60,000 members -- Dr. Roy is a Professor at the University of Texas at Austin School of Information and a fantastic researcher and activist for access to information, especially relating to Native cultures.
After the talk, we will have a reception sponsored by the HLA and run by our ALA Student Chapter. Analu Josephides will greet Dr. Roy with an Oli.
[Thursday February 14th from 4:00-5:00 at The Queen Liliuokalani Student Service Center in room 412]
Come and catch up with your LIS friends and enjoy some ice cream. If you're new to LIS, come and mingle with some of your fellow students.
