General Membership Meeting

Introduction of Officers and Committee Chairs

 

HLA Conference Update

Silent Auction Update by Andrew and Lori. Erin and Christin gave an update and explanation of how they were seeking donations in Waikiki. Andrew gave a brief explanation of HLA and why we should attend (chance to network, few choices per time frame, location on this island, ALA-SC sponsoring student panel). The conference program was passed around. Andrew will send an email seeking students interested in presenting during the student panel.

 

Committees

Lillian gave a brief overview and explanation of existing committees and passed around a signup sheet for volunteers.

 

Social Events

Loraine reminded members of the upcoming event, ALA @ the Movies, which will be October 12 at 8pm in 4V. The movie is Party Girl, starring Parker Posey.

Andrew called for ideas on how to include outer island students. Mindy suggested possibly having a meeting on the outer islands. It was suggested that during the Intensive weekends, ALA-SC could sponsor lunch. Ideas can be emailed to Loraine.

 

The meeting adjourned at 4:40pm, with an ice breaker activity.
