Executive Board and Committee Chairs Meeting
July 19, 2005

Attendees: Christian DeLay, Lillian Nicolich, Loraine Oribio, Janel Quirante, Andrew Wertheimer
The minutes from the Executive Board and Committee Chairs meeting on May 5, 2005 were approved by the Executive Officers. Lillian distributed Agenda and Committee Participation sheet.
More T-shirts (10 of each size) will be ordered soon and will be here by Orientation (Aug. 16).
We will concentrate marketing to alumni (via listserv), library staff, HLA, and current students.
Bake sales will be fundraisers for Hui Dui, not ALASC.
Zhan Hunt has been contacted about retrieving membership list/records that were lost in the flood.
Loraine, Lillian and Christian will update membership form.
Loraine wants to form a Membership Committee.
Christian will put a member list on website, with names and expected graduation date.
Membership goal is to have 50% of new students join ALASC.
Christian renewed website and is working on updating it based on information from Lillian.
There is a new calendar program that anyone can update.
Christian wants to train someone to take over website maintenance.
New photos online: Lynn Davis, still need photos of Loraine, Marta and Janel.
Lillian gave a report on this year’s conference.
Lillian suggested to Dr. Knuth that UH participate in the ALISE booth at the conference next year.
HLA conference will be held on the Big Island in November. It is still not certain that UH will have a panel slot, but if we do Andrew will pick about 4 student papers to be presented.
Lillian will make a presentation about ALASC. Loraine and Janel will also attend to represent ALASC.
Christian is still lining up guest speakers (Jo Ann Schindler is one guest).
Lillian will mention committee openings at Orientation.
This will be shelved until next semester.
First Fall Social (Ice Cream Social)
Tentatively scheduled for either Friday, Aug. 26 or Friday, Sept. 2, 2-4 pm.
Lillian will find out about reserving room.
Co-sponsored by Hui Dui, SLA-ASIST, Web Team.
Tentatively scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 11, location TBA.
We will try to have guests to speak about each of the LIS tracks.
