Proceedings
The
minutes from the Executive Board and Committee Chairs meeting on October 24,
2005 and November 30, 2005 were approved by the Executive Officers. Lillian distributed Agenda.
Brief
Reports
TreasurerŐs Report (Marta)
- ALA-SC
current account balance is $355.18.
We are expecting about $350 in payments.
- Marta is
Interim Treasurer until election of new officers in March.
Website Update (Christian and
Christine)
- Christian
is training Christine on website maintenance.
- Restructuring
of the website: there will no longer be an events page, all events will
now be on SLIS siteŐs announcement scroll.
- Christian
reminded us to send all announcements to LIS-WEB so Web Team can update
SLIS site.
Blotter (Mona)
- Margo
Hanson is new Blotter staff member.
- 3 issues
are planned for the semester.
- Possible
re-issue of Campus Map article from last semester.
- Contact
Mona with story, editorial ideas.
Discussion Items (Brainstorming & Planning)
New Election Proposal
(Lillian)
- Officers
approved LillianŐs proposal that election for new officers be held in
March.
Student to Staff
(Andrew/Lillian)
- ALA-SC will send one member to ALA Annual Conference.
- Andrew is judging applications of 2 anonymous
candidates.
- Possible LIS department contribution to help cover
airfare.
Membership & Committees
- New
Chairs are needed for Professional, Fundraising and Service Committees.
- Secretary
is now in charge of updating Membership list.
- General
Recruitment Meeting tentatively scheduled for Fri. Jan. 20, 4:00pm. Possibly combined with Ice Cream
Social. Location either
Student Services Center or Sinclair staff lounge.
- Lillian
updated Membership form.
Professional Committee
- Tuesdays
and Thursdays are the best days to schedule Brown Bags.
- Potential
Brown Bag speakers: Nancy Conley from the Contemporary Museum (art
librarianship) early Feb; Susan Johnson and Jodie Mattos (reference
service); Susan Murata (library administration)
- Possibly
co-sponsor with Dr. HaradaŐs class a school librarianship speaker.
Social Committee
- Annie
announced Sat. Jan 14 Volcano JoeŐs and Wahine basketball game.
- Tentative
ideas for the semester: First Friday Art Walk downtown, hiking.
Fundraising and Service

- Discussion
tabled until next meeting pending new committee chairs.
