The University of Hawaii is what is called a Category I Carnegie Research
University, a designation awarded only to the premier research institutions
in the United States. As such, American Studies students at UH have
a wealth of library, museum, and other archival resources available
to them. But even the richest physical assets can mean little without
guidance from accomplished and committed faculty, and without a network
of support from other students and concerned staff. The vibrant American
Studies staff, student, and faculty community is the Department's
greatest strength--and is the foundation on which we are building
its future. |
