MS II InstructorMajor Jediny was born on November 21, 1968 in Jersey City, NJ. After high school, he attended Arizona State University and graduated in 1993. Upon his commissioning MAJ Jediny was accessed into the Quartermaster Corps. He attended the Quartermaster Officer Basic Course at Fort Lee, VA later that year. His first assignment was at Camp Carroll, Korea as the Property Book Officer and Battalion S-4 with the 23rd Chemical Battalion. His follow on assignment was at Fort Clayton, Panama as the 911th Maintenance Company, Platoon Leader.
He was promoted to 1LT shortly after arriving in country and volunteered to serve as the HHC, Executive Officer for the 228th Aviation Battalion on Fort Kobbe. After these initial tours Major Jediny completed the Combined Logistics Officer Course (CLOAC), Combined Arms Service and Staff School (CASSS), Sling Load Inspectors Course, and Petroleum Officers Course (POC) at Fort Lee, VA. He was promoted to Captain during Phase I of CLOAC.
His last assignment on active duty was with the 593rd Corps Support Group at Fort Lewis, Washington. He worked as a Support Operation Officer and volunteered for a deployment to JTF-Bravo (Honduras) in support of Hurricane Mitch disaster relief efforts throughout Central America.
He served as the Assistant Professor of Military Science at Clarkson University from 2000 to 2003. He took command of C Company 479th Engineer Battalion in 2002 which was activated in 2003 and prepared to deploy to Iraq but was diverted to Fort Hood, Texas in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom I. He was promoted to Major in July 2004 and is currently assigned to Special Operations Command Korea as the Logistics Operations Officer.
MAJ Jediny is a graduate of Air Assault School, Airborne School, Aircrew Survival School, Quartermaster Officer Basic Course, Quartermaster Captains’ Career Course and the Combined Arms and Services Staff School.
His awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal (3), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Joint Meritorious Unit Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, National Defense Medal (2), Humanitarian Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, and Overseas Service Ribbon (2), Parachutist Badge, Korean Jump Wings, and Air Assault Badge.
