Lieutenant Colonel Rod Laszlo assumed his current position as the Professor of Military Science, University of Hawaii, May 17, 2006.

Upon completion of his Bachelor of Science Degree in Geography and the Reserve Officer's Training Corps Program at Portland State University in 1988, he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Signal Corps.

LTC Laszlo holds a Master of Science Degree in Information Resource Management from Central Michigan University. His military education includes completion of the Signal Officer Basic and Advanced Courses; the U.S. Army Combined Arms Services Staff School; Airborne and Jumpmaster schools; and the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College.

LTC Laszlo has held a variety of command and staff positions, including; Professor of Military Science, Central Washington University; Executive Officer and Operations Officer, 30th Signal Battalion, Fort Shafter, Hawaii; Plans Officer, Assistant Chief of Staff G3, U.S. Army Pacific, Fort Shafter, Hawaii; Operations Officer, Global Network Operations and Security Center, Defense Information Systems Agency, Arlington, Virginia; Communications Officer, TRADOC System Manager, CSSCS, Fort Lee, Virginia; Company Commander, 349th Signal Company, Okinawa, Japan; Signal Officer, 1st Battalion, 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne), Okinawa, Japan; Signal Detachment Commander, 1st Battalion, 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne), Fort Campbell, Kentucky and deployed during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm; and Microwave Multi-channel Radio and Telecommunications Platoon Leader, A Company, 307th Signal Battalion, Camp Carroll, Korea.

His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters), Army Commendation Medal (with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal (with 2 Bronze Stars), Southwest Asia Service Medal (with 2 Bronze Stars), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon (3), Saudi Arabia and Kuwait Liberation Medals, Joint Meritorious Unit Citation, Valorous Unit Citation, and the Senior Parachutist Badge.

He is married to Major (Retired) Pammella Laszlo and has one son, Colin, age 9, and Kuma, their 12 year old Siberian Husky.
