1LT(P) Robi Yucas is a graduate of The Ohio State University, with a Bachelor of the Arts degree in Aviation Management. He earned his commission through California Army National Guard’s Officer Candidate School (Distinguished Honor Graduate) and was commissioned  a Second Lieutenant in Aviation in 2002.

1LT Yucas’ military career began in 1993 as an AH-1 Cobra Helicopter Crew Chief in the Ohio Army National Guard. In 2003, 1LT Yucas was assigned to Fort Rucker, Alabama to attend the Army’s Initial Entry Rotary Wing Course. Upon graduation he attended the Fixed Wing Multi Engine Qualification Course. 1LT Yucas was assigned Executive Officer to HHC 6/52nd Avn Regt.(Theater Aviation), United States Army Reserve. In 2004, 1LT Yucas was deployed to Iraq in support of OIF 02-03 to provide theater level VIP/ high priority transport coverage for the OIF theater. Following the deployment, he received advanced aircraft training in the UH-60 Blackhawk and was assigned to 1-140th Avn Bn (Air Assault), California Army National Guard. While with 1-140th, 1LT Yucas served as a Platoon Leader and later as battalion S2. Additionally, 1LT Yucas was selected for duty with TF Wily, California’s military aviation contribution to Operation Jump Start . While with TF Wily, 1LT Yucas served as Flight Platoon Leader, flying both UH-60 and UH-1 helicopters in support of Customs and Border Patrol operations on California’s border with Mexico. In August 2008 1LT Yucas accepted a position at the University of Hawaii Army ROTC program and currently serves as a member of the Hawaii Army National Guard.  

1LT Yucas’ awards and decorations include the Air Medal, the Air Force Achievement Medal, the Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the NCO Professional Development Ribbon, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the  Army Service Ribbon , the Army Service Ribbon, and the Overseas Service Bar (2nd award). 1LT Yucas also has been awarded the Army Air Crewman Badge and the Army Aviator Badge.

1LT Yucas is a graduate of the US. Army Rotary Wing Aviator Course, the Fixed Wing Multi Engine Qualification Course, the UH-60 Aircraft Qualification Course, Aviation Officer Basic Course, the Total Army Instructor Training Course, and the U.S. Army Combatives Instructor’s Course ( level 1). He is qualified in the C-12 Huron as well as   UH-1 Huey and UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters.

1LT Yucas is a native of Brook Park, Ohio and currently resides in Kaneohe with his wife Cynthia, stepdaughter, Elana, and Tanner, their 2 year old Wheaton Terrier mix.
