¶We invite you to explore the possibilities open to students of studio art and art history in the Department of Art and Art History at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa [UHM].
¶The University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa, located in Honolulu, is the flagship campus of the state university system. We are a research university of international standing with an enrollment of about 14,000 undergraduate and 6,000 graduate students.
¶Our strengths lie in the multicultural background of our students and the emphasis on Hawaiian, Asian and Pacific aspects of our programs.
¶The Department of Art and Art History offers concentrations in both studio and art history and grants a BA with art history focus or studio focus, a BFA in studio arts, an MFA in studio arts and an MA in art history of Asia and/or Pacific arts. Studio arts include programs in printmaking, sculpture, drawing and painting, photography and animation, glass, ceramics, fiber, and graphic design.
¶The Department is housed in its own 3-story facility with studios, slide library, classrooms, art gallery and administrative offices.❦
