Procedure for the nomination of Intersections artists/scholars
Intersections Committee meets once every two years to review nominations to determine those artists/scholars to be selected for invitation. We last met in April 2006 to select for the academic years 2007-2009. Nominations are due on Dec. 10, 2007 for the next cycle 2009-2011. All complete nominations will be reviewed by the Intersections committee and 8 artists will be selected for invitation.
One month prior to the meeting date, a call for nominations is placed in faculty and graduate student mailboxes. The call for nominations and nomination procedures are also posted in the Art Dept. office.
Nominations must contain a minimum of three of the following:
Written statement nominating the artist/scholar by a faculty member or a graduate student
Self-nominations: Artists and scholars may nominate themselves for Intersections at any time; their materials will be reviewed when the next round of nominations are considered for future programming. In addition to the requirements above, candidates who self-nominate are requested to include a SASE for return of any supporting materials submitted. A self-nomination statement must directly address the ways in which the candidate’s visit will complement or supplement existing programs at the Department of Art and Art History, and if possible should suggest specific plans for activities to be undertaken through Intersections.
Artists and scholars will be informed of the committee’s decision within two months of the annual selection meeting.
Mail your submission or place it in the Intersections Mail Box in the Art Dept.
