REEM BASSOUS
Lecturer

Reem Bassous received her MFA from The George Washington University in Washington DC. Having lived in Beirut during the war, her work largely revolves around the subject and imagery of war, some of it related to ongoing events, and some of it remembered. Finding beauty in this personal chaos has been a surprising aspect of the process.

Her teaching experience includes teaching at The George Washington University and the Washington Studio School. Some of the workshops she participated in include the Drawing Marathon at the New York Studio School with Graham Nickson, and a painting workshop in Bournazel, France with Elizabeth Pioree. She has exhibited nationally and internationally and is the recipient of the Glassman Award and the Langenkamp Award in Abstract Painting.
