WENDY KAWABATA
Assistant Professor

Wendy Kawabata received her MFA from the University of New Mexico.  She has been on the faculty at UHM since 2005.  As an interdisciplinary artist, her work moves through drawing, painting, and installation.  In a broad sense, she is interested in how forces such as family, geography, custom, and history demarcate and destabilize one's identity. Kawabata's artwork often acquires its meaning and strength through repetition of form and action.
