MADELEINE SODER BAYS

Madeleine Söder Bays was born in Stockholm, Sweden. 11 years ago she moved to Hawaii where she earned her MFA degree in Fiber at the University of Hawaii.  As a student she was awarded the Outstanding Student Achievement in Contemporary Sculpture Award from Sculpture Magazine/ International Sculpture Center. Madeleine received the prestigious Baciu Visual Arts Award at Artists of Hawaii 2001.

Social and political issues drive her work, especially those related to human impact on, and relation to, the environment.
