DEBORAH WAITE
Professor
Deborah Waite received her Ph.D. in art history from Columbia University. Her courses primarily involve arts of the Pacific along with a course in African art and one on art from the Canadian North Pacific Coast. Her research focuses on the Pacific, largely in the area of Melanesia. She has written two books and many articles about art from the Solomon Islands. She has just completed a monograph on "Shields, Ritual Shielding and Shield Imaging, Solomon Islands."
