JASON WILLOME
Assistant Professor

Jason Willome is an artist from San Antonio, Texas who joined the Faculty at UHM in 2007. Willome received his BFA from the University of Texas at Austin in 2000, and his MFA from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2003. His work is interdisciplinary with emphasis on exploring a painting context; focusing on the experience of the referent through the reference, as framed by image and material. Willome’s work is primarily inspired by notions of self, as discovered and extended through the sensory modality of proprioception, or body-sense.

Willome has exhibited work both nationally and internationally, most recently participating in group shows in Colombia and Palestine.
