Kwak Nam Sin

Kwak Nam Sim’s current paintings and drawings tend to be lighter than his more serious earlier work. The former tried to empathize with the viewer, but, in his recent work, the silhouette images of human shadows, flowers, or animal bones reflect a sense of our existence through a filter—a falsified image. The only aspect that remains consistent is the absence of the superfluous.
