Antonio Vanegas Arroyo is satirized as a bearded calavera who dons a felt hat and tinted glasses, as he pockets a note of 1000 pesos. At his feet and on the sides are more calaveras, some of which are the subjects of his publications, and others who are employees in his shop. Even the artist himself, who is seated at an easel working against a dead-line, is included. The editor trumpets his business success in his own verse "until my tomb sank me."
