Born in 1956 in Lawton, Oklahoma, Lynda Andrus is a professor at Kansas State University, Manhattan. She holds a BFA, 1978, from the University of Hawai‘i, and a MA, 1979, and MFA, 1981, from the University of Iowa. Andrus is the author of Creating Art from a 3-D Perspective and Art Projects for Teachers and Students. She has received grants from Harcourt Publishers, Thomson Publishers, Kansas State University, and the Kansas Art Education Association.

I use artifacts of everyday life that express the subtle tactile qualities of human history--paper, fabric, and found objects from the home. Profane objects take on a sense of the sacred--materials becoming precious links with those who have handled them.
