Born in Seoul, Korea in 1965, Jeeun Kim has a BFA, 1988, from Ewha Womans University, Seoul, and a MFA, 1999, from the University of Hawai‘i. She has work in the collections of the Hawai‘i State Foundation on Culture and the Arts and the Honolulu Academy of Arts.

My work is about women--and about myself as a woman. I contemplate and question the nature of women. To what degree is woman’s nature tied to the geography of her body? To what degree is her nature a social construct built of the reflections, expectations, and demands of women and men around her?
