Tae Kitakata was born in Tsu, Japan in 1976. She received a BFA, 1999, from the University of Hawai‘i and a MFA, 2004, from California College of the Arts, San Francisco. She has attended Penland School of Crafts, Penland, North Carolina; Haystack Mountain School of Crafts, Deer Isle, Maine; and Pilchuck Glass School, Seattle. Currently, she is a display coordinator for Anthropologie in Palo Alto, California.
