Kasia Piech, born in Canada in 1967, has a BA, 1992, from the University of Windsor, Ontario; a BFA, 2001, from Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design, Vancouver, British Columbia; and a MFA, 2003, from the University of Waterloo, Ontario. Piech teaches at White Mountain Academy of the Arts, Elliot Lake, Ontario.

The two figures are visually abject--a result of their surface quality which is a glaze created from food products that North American children like to eat--chocolate, milk, cereal, oatmeal, orange juice, cookies, pudding, hot chocolate, candy, chips, and apple juice.
