Denise Ava Robinson was born in Launceston, Tasmania in 1959. She holds a BFA with Honours, 2000, from the University of Tasmania and received a scholarship to attend Haystack School of Art in Maine. Robinson was awarded Arts Tasmania Grants in 2000, 2001, and 2005 and an Australian Arts Council-Community Art Grant in 2002. She has worked extensively with local communities throughout Tasmania and Victoria.

Drawn to the wonder and beauty in the "ordinary," I create visual languages that reflect the rhythms of the land.
