Madeleine Soder was born in Stockholm, Sweden in 1968. She holds a BA, 1997, from the University of Halmstad, Sweden and a MPH, 1999, and MFA, 2005, from the University of Hawai‘i. In 2002, Soder was awarded the Outstanding Student Achievement in Contemporary Sculpture Award from the International Sculpture Center in Hamilton, New Jersey.

By repetition and subtraction I use absence to suggest the potentiality of a space.
