Zombies and You

Halloween might be over, but the zombies never stop. Kennedy Theatre features “Uncle Vanya and Zombies,” and prior to the Saturday performance, there will be a panel discussion co-sponsored by ACM on “The Zombie Renaissance: Hidden Meanings of Pop-Culture Texts,” at 5 pm in the Art Auditorium. It will feature Kyle William Bishop, author of “American Zombie Gothic: The Rise & Fall (& Rise) of The Walking Dead in Popular Culture.” The panel will look at Hawaiian views of the undead, and analyses of the TV series The Walking Dead and films such as World War Z and 28 Weeks Later. Besides “reviving refreshments,” there will be a chance to win play tickets & zombie swag.
