STUDENT INTERNS TO GOVERNOR’S OFFICE
Three graduate students from the Department of American Studies at UH Mānoa have been selected for placement within the offices of the Governor and Lieutenant Governor. After a rigorous competition these students were chosen to assist state leaders in a number of important areas, including preparing press summaries for the governor’s staff, conducting background on APEC-related projects, drafting press advisories, improving electronic communications, and performing other duties. The students will receive academic credit for their work at the state offices and scholarships from the College of Arts and Humanities. Dr. Robert Perkinson, Associate Professor of American Studies at UHM, will supervise the internship project. The interns are Carmen de los Reyes, Huston Ladner, and Paul Ganas.
