Alumna Heads Up Public Art Project
UHM almuna, Jean Pitman, recently created a public art project for teenagers — a “graphic anthology”, or comic book, that tells the story of the low-income Ohio community, Weinland Park, and its residents. 6 student interns, including 2 from the Weinland Park neighborhood, interviewed residents and recorded their stories for the anthology. Later, 40 artists, ranging from beginner to professional, joined in creating images to illustrate the stories.
