John F. Kennedy Theatre

Kennedy Theatre is a beautiful 630-seat facility that was built to accommodate both Asian and Western staging techniques. Opened in 1963, it is believed to be the first public building to be named after the late president. The building was designed by the renowned architect I. M. Pei. The theatre has a wide 52' stage, a burnished teak interior, and some unique features such as a ‘hanamich’ (runway) and upper and lower sidestages, often used for Kabuki and other Asian and Western Theatre performances. The Kennedy Theatre facility also includes the Ernst Lab Theatre, a separate ‘blackbox’ theatre for smaller productions and events.

Orvis Auditorium

The Mae Zenke Orvis Auditorium was built in 1962. It is generally regarded as the premier recital hall in the state. With its seating capacity of 400 and excellent acoustics, it is an ideal venue for solo recitals and chamber music.
