Can I change my UH Username's name?

UH Usernames are automatically assigned based on your legal name, as it appears on official UH records. Requests to change your UH Username will only be accepted under the following circumstances:

If one of these situations define your UH Username, you should contact the ITS Help Desk with your request to change your UH Username and UH Email Account.
For legal name changes, you need to provide documentation or an official government issued photo ID with the new legal name; see below for instructions.

Instructions for providing proof of legal name change to ITS:

In Person:

You may visit any campus representative and they will assist you. If you need assistance, please call the ITS Help Desk at (808) 956-8883 or toll-free from neighbor islands (800) 558-2669.

By fax:

After you have made the request to change your UH Username, ITS will email you to confirm the request for a UH Username change and information about the cutover from the old UH Username to the new one. Once you have received this confirmation email, you must send a reply back to ITS. This reply will confirm that you want to change your UH Username. After ITS has received the reply from you, your UH Username will be renamed to the new account name and the account should be available the next morning. Your password is moved to your new account. It does not change.

You may request a cutover period of 30 days. This gives you time to notify correspondents of the change in your UH Username and unsubscribe from mailing lists. During the 30 days, the following occurs:

At the end of the cutover period, ITS will send a notification email message to the new account stating that the cutover period is over.
