Google@UH Sites FAQs

This document is a general introduction to Google @ UH Sites, and will cover commonly used features.  For detailed information, refer to Google's Sites help center.  Much of the information in the following articles was paraphrased from Google's support documentation.


How Do I Create a Google@UH Site?

To create a new site

  1. If you are in Gmail, click on "Sites" in the upper left hand corner or go to http://sites.google.com/a/hawaii.edu/
  2. Click on "Create site"
  3. Name your Site, choose a theme, and manage any additional options prior to selecting Create site.


How to transfer ownership of a site in Google@UH Sites

Transfering ownership of a site in Google@UH Sites is a two-step process.

The first step is to add a new owner to the existing Google site:
http://sites.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=97934 

After adding a new owner, the new owner can login to remove the previous owner:
http://sites.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=98190


Getting Help for Google@UH Sites

Google has very good online help articles.  In Google Sites, click on the Help button in the upper right corner of the screen, then click on the topic in which you have interest.  You can browse directly to http://www.google.com/support/sites/
