How do I add UH Login to my online service?
Many online services used at the University of Hawaiʻi rely on UH Login to provide a secure single sign-on (SSO) to allow access to their resources.
The UH Login service facilitates this by handling logins with a consistent process familiar to users without the risk of the applications or service providers (SP) having to handle dangerous credentials such as passwords themselves. UH Login may also provide additional information about a user to the applications or SPs as required.
IMPORTANT: If user information is being provided to an external 3rd party, UH policy requires a Data Governance Process (DGP). The DGP request must be submitted prior to implementing the UH Login integration. The DGP and UH Login integration requests must be made by a UH faculty or staff member. Once the DGP is approved we may proceed with implementing UH Login integration.
Requesting a UH Login integration is a two-step process:
- Submit a Data Governance Process Request: DGP Request (UH Login Required)
- Request integrations with UH Login: UH Login Integration Request Form (UH Login Required)
Contact the Data Governance Office at datagov@hawaii.edu for data governance policy assistance and the ITS Identity & Access Management group at its-iam-help@lists.hawaii.edu for technical implementation assistance.
