Configuring email clients with security

This AskUs article will describe how to configure your email clients to securely connect to the mail.hawaii.edu server.   Note: If you are using a firewall, please make sure you allow ports 465 or  587 and  ports 993 or 995.  Please note that we recommend Port 587 (TLS), an alternate SMTP Port for default 465 (SSL), as our first choice when the email client supports it.  Port 993 is used for secure IMAP.  Port 995 is used for secure POP.  [Please review individual instructions listed for more details on configuring your email clients.]
