Adobe Reader Information (PC)

General Information

Adobe Reader, available free from Adobe, allows you to view and print files saved in Adobe Portable Document Format (pdf).

To create PDFs, including form-fillable PDFs, use Adobe Acrobat or another PDF creator software of your choice. Adobe Acrobat DC is available via a subscription plan or perpetual license while the older Acrobat XI version is perpetual license only.

Minimum System Requirements

Adobe Acrobat Reader DC

  • A PC running Windows 7, Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 (32-bit and 64-bit)
  • An Intel 1.5 GHz or faster processor
  • 1 GB of RAM
  • 380 MB of available hard disk space
  • 1024 x 768 screen resolution
  • Internet Explorer 11; Firefox ESR

Adobe Reader XI

  • A PC running Windows 7 or Windows 8.1
  • An Intel 1.3 GHz or faster processor
  • 256 MB of installed RAM (512 MB recommended)
  • 320 MB of available hard disk space
  • 1024 x 768 screen resolution
  • Internet Explorer 11; Firefox ESR; Chrome

ITS Supported Version

Adobe announced the end of support for Adobe Acrobat X and Adobe Reader X on Nov. 15, 2015. Product and security updates for these products will no longer be provided. Please upgrade to a supported version of Acrobat and Adobe Reader.
