A Discussion and Information List for Life Writing

The International Auto/Biography Association was created in June 1999 at the International Conference on Auto/Biography in Beijing. This association sponsors a discussion list about life writing.

In addition to discussions of critical and theoretical issues, the list contains postings on upcoming conferences, calls for papers, new publications, and other matters which should be of interest to students, scholars, and practitioners of lifewriting around the world.

The organizing committee is composed of Alfred Hornung (Germany), Margaretta Jolly (United Kingdom), Thomas R. Smith (United States), and Zhao Baisheng (China).

To subscribe to the list, send an email to:

Put nothing on the subject line of the message. On the first line of the message, type

subscribe iaba-l firstname lastname

Accessing the IABA-L Archives: To do so, you need to log in from the e-mail address you receive IABA-L from, and then set a password. Here's the procedure:

1. Connect to listserv.hawaii.edu
2. Click on "Subscriber's Corner"
3. Click on "Set Password"
4. Enter the e-mail address we send your IABA messages to, then select a password.

You'll receive a message by e-mail asking you to confirm that you set the password. All you do is click on an address, and you're done. Then you can search the archive.
