Laulima for Instruction and Workgroups -- Laulima's Communication Tools 1: Chat Rooms and Discussion Boards

In this first session on Communication Tools we'll start discussing the multitude of Communication tools available in Laulima for you and your students/workgroups to not only communicate with each other, but to engage deeper into the learning process as well. First we'll explore the use of Chat Room and how you can adapt them to your teaching/CMS style or workgroup system. From there we explore Discussion Boards and take a look at how they can be used to develop rich asynchronous discussions between your students/workgroup and yourself. Finally we take a look at and compare and contrast the three Discussion Board solutions Laulima offers: Discussion and Private Messages, Discussion, and Forums.
